Looking for a little va-va-voom to kick off your weekend? On Friday, September 13, Playboy pinup girl Dita Von Teese will strut her stuff at the Ogden Theatre, where she’ll be joined by bodacious beauties from local troupes Burlesque As It Was, Oracle Dance and Kitten on the Keys; Candy Whiplash and Bella Beretta from the Gun Street Girls are also scheduled to take part in Burlesque-Fest. Whew! That’s a lot of eye-boggling entertainment on one stage. But the ears won’t be neglected: On hand to provide a lush aural backdrop for all that hip-wigglin’ will be local favorites DeVotchKa, whose eclectic musical blend recently scored them a top slot in the Denver Post‘s roster of local alternative talent. Rounding out the barrel of fun will be MC Ukulele Loki from Boulder’s Radio 1190, who’ll spin between stripteases. (We’re guessing lots of local DJs are wondering just how you get that gig.) Finally, a Friday the 13th you can look forward to.
