Darren Emerson at Beta

As one third of seminal dance act Underworld, Darren Emerson was a key player in creating some of the best, most memorable dance anthems of all time. Tracks like "Born Slippy," "Cowgirl" and "Push Upstairs" not only set dance floors worldwide on fire, but they also made it onto soundtracks and got mainstream radio play. Since leaving the group to focus on his own work, Underworld has slowly slipped from the public eye, while Emerson has gained success and acclaim as a DJ, producer and head of influential label Underwater Records. His successes include a couple of top-notch Global Underground mix discs; "Scorchio," a track he did with Sasha; and remixes of everyone from Björk to Slam. Out in the world, he's run a popular club night in Pacha, Ibiza, and a residency at the End in London, but if you can't make it to one of those exotic locales, never fear: Beta is bringing Emerson to town this Thursday, February 26.
