It takes a lot of balls for a band to play in matching Christmas sweaters. Although Eyes and Ears has done that, “ballsy” may not be the best way to describe the act’s sound; after all, one of the members is a girl. What Eyes and Ears lacks in testicular fortitude, however, it makes up for in enthusiasm and spunkiness. The foursome (which celebrates its split-LP release show this Friday, April 18, at the Larimer Lounge, with South Dakota rockers the Reddmen) blends playfully insouciant lyrics about crappy jobs and late-night shenanigans over a bed of buzzy power chords and shout-along choruses. In short, the band plays lo-fi ’60s-style garage rock that is simple and fun.
