Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Imagine, if you will, a thugged out, South African version of Vanilla Ice with a hard-on for drum-and-bass inspired beats. Now imagine that he has friends that all look like they escaped from a freak show and/or a David Lynch movie. Now stop imagining, because that shit is real and it is Die Antwoord.
Of the many, many videos we have featured here at Freaky Friday, we believe this may be the actual freakiest. Seriously, it's a little disturbing, and not just because it sounds like that dude from District 9 speed-rapping nonsense about being a ninja. Actually, that's the easiest to swallow thing about this whole, bizarre mess. And it's worth noting that the goofy looking gent you see here is, by far, the most normal looking person in this video.
We really don't know what else to say, but word of warning: if you have nightmares about this shit afterward, don't say we didn't warn you...
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
