As if you needed another reason besides the band's funky tunes to head down to the Bluebird this Thursday, February 19, for the U.S. Pipe CD-release show (check out Jon Solomon's Backbeat feature on the band from this week's paper if you haven't already), you can grab yourself a free beer and help out the homeless in one fell swoop.
Let that sink in: free beer, funk and good deeds, all in one convenient package. I know, it's unbelievable.
All you need to do is bring a non-perishable food item and/or item of clothing to donate to the homeless, and Flying Dog Brewery will pour you one of their beers, gratis. Pretty simple, huh? And even though they'll take it, I beseech you, on the behalf of the homeless, no creamed corn. Come on: Spring for a can of black beans or something, at least.
You can get more info on the show and buy tickets at the Bluebird's website.
