Former Punch Brothers and current Leftover Salmon bassist Greg Garrison is starting a new residency at the Armoury on 20th and Larimer next month that sounds pretty cool. Billed as Greg Garrison Trio +1, "You Pick 'Em," the night will feature Garrison and his bandmates, guitarist Dave Devine and drummer Marc Dalio, with an array of estimable guests (thus the plus one), all playing covers.

In addition to Jeff Austin from Yonder Mountain String Band, who kicks off the series on Wednesday, July 3, Andy Hall from Infamous Stringdusters is slated to sit in on Wednesday, July 10, and Andy Thorn from Leftover Salmon is due on Wednesday, July 17. Now, here's where things get even more interesting: You get to pick the set list -- well, you can make suggestions, anyway -- on Garrison's site of what covers the band should play in its set. If his Improvised Roots Series is any indication, the new residency is definitely worth checking out.
