As far as album titles go, GT & the Sidewinders found a perfect one with Across America. The album’s pretty much about traveling in one way or another, whether it be musically or through the lyrics — like the opener, “Coming Home,” in which frontman G.T. Scragg sings about driving back home on I-25 to his baby, or on the title track, about a trucker driving across the country. Musically, GT and company are riding with Hank III and Wayne Hancock, with some high-voltage rockabilly, snappy country and a few honky-tonk stops along the way. It’s a hell of ride, with lead guitarist Noah “Get-It” Gietka stomping up his share of dust and Informants singer Kerry Pastine dropping in for a few tunes.
