Once again it's on: This Sunday, Hip-Hop Congress Denver is throwing its annual Spirit of Hip-Hop park jam at La Raza Park at 38th and Navajo. The fourth annual gathering, hosted by Dent, Bianca Mikahn and Larry Love, is free and open to all ages. As always, expect tons of hip-hop goodness served up for the entire family.

Mane Rok is once again manning the grill with some other local cats, and DJs Lazy Eyez, M.F. KAAOS and more will be holding things down on the tables. There will also be performances by Bumpy Chill, Bianca Mikahn, Wheelchair Sports Camp and DJ Fast4ward, as well as cyphers, b-boy battles and live graf from Path One, Taste, and more. Spirit of Hip-Hop is always a dope time brought by some dope people. Don't miss it.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
