Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You

We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.

Ah, the holiday season is upon us, a time when even the most hardened individuals feel compelled to give a little something extra of themselves. In the case of the musicians participating in a charity benefit for Children’s Hospital, Saturday, December 2, at the Iliff Park Saloon in Aurora, it might mean giving a little extra amplification. Rocket Ajax (pictured) is among the hard-rocking local bands who will take to the Iliff’s stage to raise funds for the hospital (every bit of the $10 cover will be donated), along with Sick, Symmetry, Cherry Wood and Peace, Love & Destruction. The event is presented and hosted by C. Axl Cones, host of the metal-minded community-access program, The Cone Zone. Who says rock and rollers don’t have a heart?
