Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Brenda Harp
helps ring in the season, community style, as one of the musical guests at the Colorado Music Association Holiday Celebration at the Soiled Dove on Sunday, December 16. The Denver-based Harp seems a fitting choice for such an event: As a guitarist and vocalist, she brings a probing, celebratory quality to her music, evoking a less affected Jewel and a more youthful Joni Mitchell. At the Water’s Edge, Harp’s second solo CD, is a crystalline, uplifting effort that imparts spirituality, sensitivity and spunk in equal measure. Perpetual Motion and Christy Wessler will also entertain revelers at the fete, which is open to everyone; musicians are invited to bring instruments for a post-show jam. COMA one, come all.
