The 8 Bucks Experiment is still technically a local band, though its knack for crafting smart, mathematically precise blasts of post-punk aggression has earned the Denver four-piece a name outside its hometown. A touring machine driven by the three brothers O’Meara, 8 Bucks is always worth the price of admission in energy alone. On Saturday, January 5, the band will be among the first to play a new series of Saturday-night showcases at the Flying Dog Brewery; Black Lamb and Felt (from Cheyenne) will help fill out what will surely be a frenetic evening of rock and roll. Don’t be surprised if you leave the Dog resembling one of the Ralph Steadman characters that adorn the brewery’s walls.
