Josh Gabriel at Beta

The music of Josh Gabriel is hard to escape. As half of the duo Gabriel & Dresden — and, more recently, on his own — his productions and remixes have seen play from some of the industry's top DJs, including John Digweed, Carl Cox and Danny Howells. His signature work is an uplifting strain of progressive house, shading toward trance, that occasionally reveals his appreciation for '80s new wave, but he's not afraid to mix it up with some tougher, percussion-driven techno material as well. His latest project, Winter Kills, teams him with a vocalist for tracks like "Deep Down" that fuse those new-wave predilections with his dance-floor sensibilities for results that work as well at home as in the club. Catch him Thursday, July 1, at Beta, where he'll be launching the club's 4th of July All American Glam Slam Weekend.
