The floodwaters might be receding from his home town of Nashville, but Landon Pigg isn't wallowing in them. Still on the road behind his 2009 full-length, The Boy Who Never, the young singer-songwriter is touring through a string of smaller venues, despite the fact that his star seems to be slowly but steadily rising, thanks to an appearance this month on The Tonight Show following his big-screen debut in Drew Barrymore's roller derby flick, Whip It!. Pigg's latest release is the Coffee Shop EP, featuring his dreamy, sugary hit "Falling in Love at a Coffeeshop" — which, besides appearing in a ubiquitous AT&T commercial, gets played way too fucking much in coffee shops. It might seem like the second coming of James Blunt, but even such featherweight ditties reveal Pigg's knack for classic, sumptuous, heartfelt songcraft.
