Remember way back in January when we speculated that Spools of Dark Thread was headed for a dirt nap, only to rescind our prediction a few weeks later when we received word that a few members had designs on soldiering on? Little did we know then -- especially given the fact that frontman Chris Thomas had moved on to front Random Friend Generator -- that the reminaing members in question were none other than Thomas himself and Jamey Crow Bartley. Nearly six months later, Spools of Dark Thread is set to re-emerge with a brand new line-up rounded out by scene vet and Thomas's Random Friend Generator bandmate Pat Searcy (Rexway, Sick, Drug Under) on guitar, Justin Williams on guitar and vocals and Andy Bercaw on bass. In advance of tomorrow night's show at Herman's Hideaway -- which also features Rocket Ajax, another act raised from the dead, and twin metal titans, Horse and Defeat the Lie -- we've posted "For Now So Long" for your free Friday downloading pleasure. The cut, posted after the jump, was recorded by Tom Pulce at Coupe Studios and appears on the band's limited editon four-song EP from 2008. Enjoy.
