Police arrest four individuals in valet hit-and-run death outside Rockstar Lounge

Denver Police have reportedly arrested four people in connection with the hit-and-run incident that took place over the weekend at Rockstar Lounge (940 Lincoln), in which valet Jose Medina was struck by vehicle and later died from his injuries. It was the 21-year-old's first night on the job.



Eliu Montes-Garcia (pictured right), who evidently has a lengthy history with immigration officials, was the first of three people arrested locally, the other two being Yolanda Bastida-Nolasco, Guadalupe Bastida. Another woman, Norma Paola Vera-Nolasco, was apprehended last night in Phoenix last night on plane headed for Mexico, just as it was preparing for takeoff. No word yet on specific charges, but we'll keep you posted.

On January 26, 2011, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Denver Police contacted Phoenix Police Officers at Sky Harbor Airport concerning a wanted passenger traveling from Denver to Mexico. The passenger Norma Vera-Nolasko, had a felony warrant issued for her arrest and it was believed she was flying under an alias to Mexico through Phoenix.

The officers confirmed that she was in fact on a U.S. Air flight that was pulling away from the gate. The flight returned to the gate and Vera-Nolasko was taken into custody without incident by Phoenix Police Officers. She was subsequently booked into the Maricopa County Jail for the warrant.

Denver Police also arrested Yolonda Bastida-Nolasco (DOB03/10/67) and Guadalupe Bastida (DOB11/12/62) in Denver in connection with the crime.

Previous Release

It has been determined that the Hit and Run vehicle is a white GMC extended cab pick-up Colorado license plate # 895VYF. The vehicle has damage to the front right and along the passenger side.

Previous Release 01/24/11, 10:52 a.m.

On January 22, 2011, at 11:50 p.m. Denver Police responded to the scene of a hit and run accident in the 900 Block Lincoln Street. The victim was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Scene investigation showed the suspect vehicle was northbound on Lincoln Street when it struck the victim, a valet, who was assisting the driver out of their vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was followed by a cab driver who provided the following information: The suspect vehicle is a white, older model (03-05) GMC, Sierra, Suburban SUV type, with tinted windows and with Colorado license plate # 895VYF. The vehicle may have damage to the right front fender, and bumper.

The vehicle was last seen stopped near 20th St & Washington St.
