The three members of Porter Batiste Stoltz have a lot to live up to on their own. Collectively, the funk-fueled trio has amassed an impressive pedigree that includes stints backing the Meters, the Neville Brothers, Dr. John and New Orleans musician, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Allen Toussaint. With the departure of Art Neville, the dynamic Funky Meters' rhythm section — bassist George Porter Jr. and percussionist Russell Batiste Jr. — along with guitarist Brian Stoltz has taken the quiet explosion of the Meters' signature sound and worked to expand the groove. Further exploring their inherent abilities as rock-solid, funktastic backline musicians, the three have arrived at a sound that falls somewhere between jam-band workout, funk-rock fusion and utter brilliance.
