Well, the rumors have finally been confirmed: Rage Against the Machine will indeed be in town for the DNC. The incendiary act is slated to perform at the Tent State Music Festival to End the War on Wednesday, August 27 at the Denver Coliseum, where it will be joined by Flobots, The Coup, State Radio and Wayne Kramer. Tickets to the event are free, but will only be available by lottery.
To be eligible for the lottery, you need to make your way to Cuernavaca Park with a photo ID between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24 through Tuesday, August 26. Those selected will be notified via e-mail and can claim a pair of tickets from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the day of the show at the Coliseum. Presumably to curtail potential scalping, lottery winners and their guest will need to be on hand to pick up the tickets and must then immediately enter the venue (9 a.m. is when doors open; show starts at 11 a.m.). Any unclaimed tickets after noon will be made available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. — Dave Herrera
