Scratching the Surface

Andy C (slated to appear at the Church on Thursday, November 25) first made his mark on the drum-and-bass world at the age of seventeen, with a track called "Valley of the Shadows" that he produced with partner Ant Miles under the name Origin Unknown. "Valley" went on to become one of the biggest-selling dance hits of all time, firmly establishing Andy C and his label, Ram Records. Consistently voted the top drum-and-bass DJ in the world year after year, Andy has some of the tightest mixing skills around, regardless of genre. It's his production talents, however, that have made him the scene's leader: Upon their release, tracks like "Valley" and "Body Rock" have created nothing short of paradigm shifts in the drum-and-bass world. His latest effort, Nightlife 2, a two-disc set comprising various mixes interspersed with a raft of original tracks, has just been released on Ram Records.
