$20,000

Trance-music don Christopher Lawrence is arguably the best-known name in dance music to come from the United States, a country with no shortage of top-notch DJ talent. Consistently ranked alongside the U.K.’s hottest jocks in DJ Magazine‘s annual poll, in 2004 Lawrence checked in at number seven, placing higher than any other American jock. And at this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami, he took home the top prize for “Best American DJ” at the International Dance Music Awards. None of this comes as any surprise, really. Since stepping behind the decks twelve years ago, Lawrence has established himself as one of the hardest-working DJs in the business, headlining events from China to New York City. Last summer he released his debut artist album, All or Nothing, which garnered rave reviews and established him as a producer to watch. A longtime Denver favorite, Lawrence performs at Vinyl on Saturday, April 16.
