San Francisco-based dubstep producer/DJ Antiserum is aptly named: His dark, wobbling bass lines and heavy beats might just prevent infection from the dripping-with-cheese, over-the-top trance-heavy lineups prevalent across town this season. He's been at the forefront of the West Coast dubstep movement, touring across this country and Canada as well as Australia and New Zealand, spreading the visceral sound wherever he goes. And as skilled as Antiserum is at creating darker sounds, the lighter sides of his tracks bring up the mood effectively, too. He's collaborated on tracks with ill-esha, No Thing, 12th Planet, Vinja and Messinian, blending hip-hop, reggae and metal into funky, dubby beats that even dubstep haters might catch themselves dancing to if they're not careful. See Antiserum with other bass-heavy acts Triage, SPL and the Bassist at Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom on Saturday, December 4.
