Sounds Like Fun!

When Napoleon III advanced on Mexican soil in 1862, he could scarcely have imagined how his defeat would eventually be celebrated. In honor of this year's Cinco de Mayo, Denver will offer a wide variety of traditional festivities and, of course, some good, old-fashioned drag-king cabaret. On Friday, May 5, Zu, 60 S. Broadway, will celebrate in style with the first in a series of "Female to Male Illusion" contests. Ten women will demonstrate their testosterone-fueled talents on the Zu stage beginning at 9 p.m. in a south-of-the-border style showcase that will separate the girls from the men. Another Zu favorite, Jessica the Rabbit, will help emcee the event and entertain the crowd until the all-night dancing begins. ¡Somos Mexicanos!
