Stereogum's Xmas gift for you

In an admirable show of Christmas spirit, MP3 blog Stereogum has thoughtfully compiled a list of its top 50 downloaded tracks of the year. Even more thoughtfully, they've zipped all 50 of the files into one conveniently downloadable archive! Among the gems are a radical Diplo deconstruction/remix of Radiohead's "Reckoner," selections from year-end-list favorites such as Hercules and Love Affair, Fleet Foxes and Crystal Stilts, and even a track from Brooklyn-via-Boulder outfit Chairlift. It takes about twenty minutes to download it over the typical broadband connection, but other than that, it's totally free (and legal), so there's not much reason not to grab it. -- Cory Casciato

(P.S. Not sure what the deal is with that cat picture, but it's what Stereogum chose to illustrate their blog post, and who am I to argue? Happy Holidays!)

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
