It took six months for the Knew to make Pulpería, its long-player released earlier this summer. In contrast, the guys banged out the three songs on this seven-inch vinyl EP in a weekend. While both recordings prove that the Knew can put out quality stuff whether it's months or days in the making, Before It Ends displays the rawness and urgency that comes with not spending a lot of time in the studio. Songs like the title track and "Company" not only complement the slightly slicker-sounding Pulpería, but they also rock a bit harder and come closer to capturing the energy of the band's vigorous live sets. And while there might only be a few cuts on this EP, they're mighty good ones, buzzing with hooks and crude goodness.
