Not that there needs to be an excuse for a 420-style celebration in Colorado, but tonight at the Fox Theatre, weed enthusiasts the Supervillains (along with Tatanka and Bop Skizzum) get the party started, just a day ahead of the annual blowout. Rising up alongside similar acts like Slightly Stoopid and Less Than Jake, the quartet has been creating poppy ska jams for over a decade.
Touring the country relentlessly since its Florida beginnings, the band has honed live shows that include marijuana-twinged sing-alongs and memorable, riddim-riding Billy Joel and George Michael covers. Through LAW Records (friends and dub-heavy contemporaries Pepper’s label), the Supervillains have recently released their six album, this year’s Postcards From Paradise. Tickets for this show, which is all ages, are $12-$17. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and bands start at 9.
