I think we can all agree that battles of the bands are often tedious. With some notable exceptions, obviously, generally what you get treated to is a parade of mediocre acts that test the thresholds of your tolerance. This one, however, that the Lefthand Brewing Company is hosting next month in Longmont, sounds kind of riveting. How about nine tribute bands battling it out for ultimate supremacy? Uh-huh. Now we're talking.
On Saturday, August 3, at Leftapalooza, find out who the best imposters are from Hey, Lady! (B-52s), Shakedown Street (Grateful Dead), Rush Archives, Eclipse (Journey), Dreamboat Annie (Heart), the Flying W's (Weezer), Tookus (Allman Brothers), My Old School (Steely Dan), and the Dirty Femmes (Violent Femmes). Winners get a gig at the Boulder Theater and proceeds from the $10 cover will help benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
