Yungblud, also known as Dominic Harrison, has had quite the year, as both his music and online presence have taken the internet by storm. Between his sold-out American tour, the success of his latest album, Idols, and the accompanying documentary Yungblud: Are You Ready, Boy?, it’s no surprise that we’re witnessing the rise of an icon. Add to that the impact of his UK music festival, BludFest, which has spotlighted rising international artists such as Lola Young, Denzel Curry, Rachel Chinouriri and more, and it’s clear that Yungblud is shaping the future of rock.
With major co-signs from legends like Ozzy Osbourne, including a powerful rendition of “Changes," Yungblud is quickly becoming a household name.
Pulling up to Mission Ballroom on August 28 in a cheetah-print vest and black leather pants, Yungblud immediately captivated the sold-out crowd. He opened the night with “Hello Heaven, Hello,” delivering an explosive performance filled with soaring instrumentals and gritty yet crystal-clear vocals. At one point, he asked, “How many of you are at your first Yungblud show?” When half the crowd raised their hands, he cheekily replied, “Where have you been all my life?” and continued to charm the room with his boundless energy and charisma. His ability to electrify a crowd is undeniable. With non-stop running, jumping, guitar swaps, and vocal acrobatics, Yungblud showed off his impressive range, especially on tracks like “Lovesick Lullaby,” which had the entire floor shaking. His cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” was a standout moment, with the crowd chanting “I’m going through changes” in unison, an emotional high point that united punks, goths, and rock fans alike. What’s especially notable about Idols is how different it is from his earlier work. It’s a clear reinvention, a bold twist on classic rock that pays direct homage to such Brit-rock legends as Black Sabbath, Oasis, Blur and David Bowie. The live renditions of the Idols tracks were just as polished and powerful as the studio recordings, instantly transporting the audience into his new musical world. There’s a unique blend of raw emotion and refined sound in this album that has resonated deeply with fans worldwide, and this night at Mission Ballroom was no exception.
At the end of the show, Yungblud took time to meet fans, sign autographs, and express his appreciation. He left the crowd with one final surprise: an announcement via speakerphone to his fans that he’ll be back in 2026 to play Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
