Today’s social media feeds are inundated with beige quarter-zips and striped sweaters carefully tied around shoulders, as influencers attempt to channel the so-called “old money” aesthetic that has recently captivated Gen Z.

For Coloradans looking to LARP generational wealth, good news: your next Instagram backdrop is right here.

Aspen was named the most popular “old money” winter destination in the United States, according to a report from Tarotoo. The analysis ranked winter getaway spots based on their number of Instagram uploads using the “old money” and other related hashtags — because nothing says quiet luxury and understated elegance like social media selfies.

Aspen came out on top by a wide margin, boasting over 2.9 million uses of the hashtags. Three other Colorado ski towns also cracked the top ten, earning Colorado four spots on the list, while no other state got more than one.

Vail came in second place with over 1.9 million hashtag uses, according to the report. Breckenridge ranked sixth with 1.1 million, and Telluride ranked seventh with 950,000.

The results aren’t very surprising considering Colorado’s wealth of world-class ski resorts. Earlier this year, Powder Magazine reported that Aspen Snowmass is the most expensive ski resort in the nation based on average lift ticket, rental, meal and lodging prices (the hot chocolate isn’t cheap, either). Beaver Creek, Vail and Breckenridge ranked as the fourth, fifth and sixth most expensive, respectively.

In November, Travel + Leisure called Colorado the most luxurious winter destination in the country.

Aspen in particular has long attracted ultra-rich vacationers, from Justin Bieber to Jeff Bezos. Almost anyone who travels to Colorado to ski surely has plenty of disposable income. But the “old money” social media trend is more about regular people emulating aristocrats for likes, using Colorado’s beautiful ski towns as the setting for their heavily curated content.

More wannabe influencers clogging lodges and trails with tripods is a bummer for the ski bum locals who call the mountains home…even if they wear vintage ski jumpsuits while they do it.

Here are the ten most popular “old money” winter destinations in the country, according to the Tarotoo report:

  1. Aspen, Colorado
  2. Vail, Colorado
  3. Big Sky, Montana
  4. Park City, Utah
  5. Jackson Hole, Wyoming
  6. Breckenridge, Colorado
  7. Telluride, Colorado
  8. Stowe, Vermont
  9. Sun Valley, Idaho
  10. Lake Placid, New York
