Colorado’s latest legal weed recall involves 53 dispensaries across the state, according to a health and safety notice issued on Wednesday, April 1.

The state Marijuana Enforcement Division flagged 108 different batches of cannabis concentrate and vaporizer products from J&C LLC, which does business as Juicy Concentrates, after the products were “found to have pesticides above the acceptable limits.” Approximately four batches were recalled over the presence of the banned insecticides chlorfenapyr and MGK-264, while another 104 batches were recalled for MGK-264 only.

An insecticide that kills mites and other bugs by disrupting energy in their cells, chlorfenapyr has been linked to at least eleven marijuana safety advisories since June 2025. MGK-264 is a synergist that is often mixed pesticide to increase their chances of success, according to application guides. Although studies on MGK-264 show it has little toxicity to birds and mammals when ingested or applied to skin, the chemical is highly toxic to insects and aquatic life.

The recalled products were sold in Colorado dispensaries from November 12, 2025, through March 25 of this year, according to the MED.

“Individuals who possess this affected product should destroy it or return it to the store from which it was purchased for proper disposal. Individuals who experience adverse health effects after consuming the affected product should seek medical attention immediately and report the event to the MED by submitting a MED Reporting Form,” the MED notice advises.

Juicy Concentrates collaborated with the MED in the process for a voluntary recall, regulators note. “We are committed to producing a clean product,” the company says in a statement to Westword.

This is the ninth marijuana recall issued in Colorado this year, and the sixteenth since last November. The MED sent a memo to cannabis business owners in January, warning them that regulators were aware of “non-compliance” with marijuana pesticide testing requirements, making contamination investigations “more complex” while leading to “an increase in Health and Safety Advisories issued by the Division.”
