Dakota Fresh, No. 86: Woman shot last week dies, Marcos Antonio DeLeon charged with murder

Last week, we told you about a search for Marco Antonio DeLeon, identified by the Aurora Police Department as a person of interest in the shooting of a woman subsequently identified as Dakota Fresh, nineteen.

Unfortunately, Fresh died of her wounds -- and DeLeon, who was captured after the APD's alert went out, has now seen the charge against him altered from attempted murder to murder in the first degree. In addition, Nathaniel P.J. Raney, was arrested on an accessory charge.

The victim of the shooting on April 12, 2010 in the 2000 block of North Fulton Street has died. She is identified as19-year-old Dakota J. Fresh.

Major Crimes/Homicide investigators arrested the alleged shooter, Marcos DeLeon on April 12, 2010 on attempted murder charges. Those charges now will be upgraded to reflect Murder in the First Degree.

Nathaniel P.J. Raney, 22-years-of-age, was arrested yesterday on accessory charges for his role in the aftermath of the shooting. He is now being charged with Accessory to Murder in the First Degree.
