Hundreds of Flights have been canceled and delayed at Denver International Airport on Monday, March 16, according to flight trackers.

As of 11:30 a.m, there have been 318 delays and 106 flight cancellations at DIA, according to FlightAware and first reported by the Denver Post. Approximately 201 of those flights were scheduled to leave DIA as their origin airport, FlightAware data shows.

Southwest Airlines has canceled 36 flights and delayed 145 so far, with United Airlines calling off 25 flights and delaying another 75. SkyWest Airlines (26 cancellations, 42 delays), American Airlines (seven cancellations, eleven delays) and Frontier Airlines (four cancellations, 24 delays) have also significantly altered their flight plans out of Denver, according to FlightAware, while at least four other airlines have had to cancel flights, as well.

The press office at DIA declined to comment on the factors behind the large amount of cancellations, directing Westword to contact the FAA and individual airlines.

“It could be a number of things,” a DIA spokesperson says.

The FAA has not immediately responded to a request for comment.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings for severe and dangerous flying conditions around East Coast airports, including thunderstorms and strong cold fronts. The disruption on the East Coast has caused cancellations, delays and affected flight patterns across the country, according to an FAA announcement earlier today.
