Officers with the Denver Police Department found a man dead in a home in the 5100 block of West Gill Place a little before 7 p.m. last night. The man, whose name has not been replaced, was dead from a gunshot wound. Police are not saying where the man was shot, because they want to use that information in apprehending the assailants.

According to Detective John White, the lead investigator in the case had asked that the location of the man's fatal wound be suppressed.

In a release issued this morning, White indicated that the victim and his killer or killers likely scuffled in the house, with that apparently leading to the shooting.
