Those who work the overnight shift at Colfax motels no doubt have some tales to tell — but we hope few of them experience what a Days Inn employee witnessed today. Mere hours ago at this writing, a clerk discovered that the person who stumbled into the lobby at the business had just been stabbed. Details and more below.

News of the incident went public within the hour via this Denver Police Department tweet:

However, 7News reports that after being stabbed, the victim traveled by foot to the nearby Days Inn, where staffers immediately sought help. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he’s currently described as being in stable condition.
As was the case with the most recent examples of overnight crime we’ve shared in the past few days, no suspect information is available at this time. Be careful out there.
