Yard Arteology: The study of neighbors through their lawn decoration...
After months of arcane ritual and conjuring, August is the month that reveals all. Plants at their peak have a magical way of separating the plantellectuals from the dignoramuses. Garden gurus, who were able to visualize August when looking at their yards last April, are now able to lord it over the rest of us...
The divine vignette pictured above is an extremely well-planned assemblage of art and nature. The choice of the potted yucca placed directly before Jesus highlights His rejoicing gesture as it compliments the burst of foliage. The haphazard placement of the concrete border tiles also helps insinuate the power produced by this eruption of glory. The yard artist has planted the cedar behind the statue at a slight tilt, as if to suggest that the tree is looking over Jesus's shoulder to watch him work his magic over Mother Nature.
