Requests for proposals are due today, September 4, 2009, for the restaurant concession in the McNichols building renovation plans at Civic Center. In my comic this week, I present an R.F.P for the Yum Yum Tree Museatum, an eating museum featuring Denver's most infamous diners.

It is actually an alternate plan, because my original idea was ignored. I proposed in the March 31, 2005 issue of Westword that the McNichols building would be the ideal place to house the Clyfford Still art collection. I suggested then, that the paintings could be hung on the second and third floors, and the Clyfford Still Color Fyeld Gryll restaurant could occupy the main floor. Patio seating would replace the ugly park-side parking lot. It's a plan that starts to look better as the city's budget looks worse....
