As much as I would love to show my appreciation with numerous trendy purchases at fashionable boutiques, it may be more fitting to re-honor the retail resort by rerunning portions of my August 29, 1996 feature. So what if I had to pass two or three nearly vacant malls to get here? This is corporate American consumerism wrapped in all of its Colorado cutesiest. It's like a great mountain lodge, only this time Colorado has been completely paved over and all of the scenery is inside! It took some getting used to, but I found it was no greater an illusion than Douglas County's water supply.
