The violent deaths continue to stack up -- and they're not waiting for the weekend. Early this morning, Aurora Police Department officers were dispatched to the Bar La Cabana, 1130 Yosemite Street, a venue captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"). There, they found a gunshot victim who subsequently expired of his wounds at an area hospital. Read the offical APD release below:

AURORA POLICE DEPARTMENT

RELEASE DATE/TIME: June 11, 2009 (8:05 a.m.)

NATURE: Shooting Results in Man's Death

Aurora, Colo. - Major Crimes/Homicide Unit detectives are looking for the suspect or suspects responsible for a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours of June 11, 2009.

On Thursday morning shortly before 1:30 a.m., Aurora Police Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Yosemite Street to the La Cabana Bar on an unknown problem. Officers arrived and found that a man in his 20's had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to life-threatening injuries.

MCU detectives and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel responded to the scene to interview witnesses, collect evidence and track down leads in the case.

At this early stage of the investigation, there is no additional information to release. Anyone with information is asked to call MCU Detective Craig Appel at (303) 739-6207.
