Mile High Murder, No. 2: Remembering Leigh Landskroner

Last week, Broomfield Police officers killed Blair Kepler, 58, after he fatally shot his wife, Leigh Landskroner in their presence. The memorial service for Landskroner, whose family spoke about her love of animals and kin in a Daily Camera profile, took place on Friday. The Broomfield Enterprise also published a simple obituary for Landskroner, which said this of the Cleveland native:

She was a dedicated mother and a gifted artist, her family said. Her life was committed to her daughters and she was involved in every aspect of their lives encouraging kindness, intelligence, independence and love, her family said. Leigh was a gifted artist always taking on challenging, historically relevant projects, her family said. Her most recent project was to meticulously restore a large, historic 19th century schoolhouse, where she lived with her daughters.
