Cohabitation can be a challenge under the best circumstances -- but problems are seldom solved by gunplay....

Just past 4 a.m. this morning, officers from the Lakewood Police Department responded to word of a shooting at 5300 W. Arizona Avenue, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"). Early reports suggest that one roommate killed another -- and a third person in the vicinity was also injured.

Case Report # 09-32661

Lakewood Police are currently investigating a homicide. At approximately 4:15 am this morning, August 4th, 2009 Lakewood Police received a report of a shooting at 5300 W Arizona Ave. in the City of Lakewood.

The suspect called to report he had shot his roommate during a dispute. He complied with police and was taken into custody without incident. A third party was present in the home and was uninjured.

No names are available at this time.

Investigation is ongoing. More information as it is available will be forthcoming.
