Rapid developments on

The Denver Police Department has identified the victim as Jessica Porter, 28, and the suspect as Anthony Joseph Romero, 29. Romero's being held on investigation of first-degree murder.

On November 6, 2009 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Denver Police Department responded to 1873 S. Clermont Street on a report of a DOA and a stabbing. Upon arrival, the officers located a female victim, identified as Jessica Porter, (28) deceased inside the home at this location. Officers also located a male suffering from apparent sharp force injuries to his neck and arms. Paramedics transported the male to the Denver Health Medical Center where he remains in stable condition. Doctors pronounced Porter dead at the scene.

Through the investigation, police identified the male, suffering from the sharp force injuries, as Anthony Joseph Romero 12/20/80 and as the suspect in this case. Romero is under arrest and held for investigation of Murder in the First Degree. Cause of Porter's death will be pending completion of an autopsy. Detectives will present this case to the Denver District Attorney next week for determination of formal charges against Romero. Police are not looking for any other suspects in this case.

Upon arrival, the officers located a female victim deceased inside the home at this location. Officers also located a male suffering from apparent sharp force injuries to his neck and arms. Paramedics transported the male to the Denver Health Medical Center where he remains in stable condition. Doctors pronounced the female dead at the scene.

Police continue to investigate this incident as a homicide. Identities of the female victim and male subject are pending confirmation and notification of next of kin by the Denver Coroner's Office. Cause of death will be pending an autopsy. Police are not looking for any suspects in this case.
