Colorado’s cannabis industry ended 2025 with a vast recall hitting nearly 300 dispensaries.
In a health and safety notice issued on the afternoon of December 31, the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division outlines potentially dangerous vaporizer cartridges and infused pre-rolled joints from CC Brands LLC, which also does business as Stash House CO. According to the MED, one production batch from CC Brands “initially passed testing but was later subjected to additional testing” that showed unacceptable limits of the pesticide chlorfenapyr.
Chlorfenapyr is an approved insecticide by the Environmental Protection Agency for ornamental use inside contained greenhouses, but it is not approved for use on cannabis plants in Colorado, and has been labeled “moderately toxic” by the World Health Organization.
Other recalled production batches from CC Labs were made with cannabis concentrate containing fluopyram, a fungicide used to combat powdery mildew, which is also banned in Colorado cannabis cultivations.

According to the MED, CC Labs collaborated with the state to initiate a voluntary recall for the flagged products, sold from February 27 to December 11 at 295 stores across the state. Both medical and recreational dispensaries were affected.
All CC Labs and Stash House products have the following license numbers on their product labels: 404R-00047 for recreational use and 404-00302 for medical use.
“Individuals who possess this affected product should destroy it or return it to the store from which it was purchased for proper disposal. Individuals who experience adverse health effects after consuming the affected product should seek medical attention immediately and report the event to the MED by submitting an MED Reporting Form,” the health and safety notice reads.
According to MED records, CC Labs also does business as Cheeba Chews, a multi-state edibles brand. Cheeba Chews was not listed in the recall, and the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A Stash House representative could not be reached.
This is the sixth cannabis recall in two months from the MED, which has issued seventeen in total in 2025. The contamination concerns stem from a range of issues, including banned pesticides, heavy metals, mold and improper testing or tracking procedures during production.
