Not that cops had any idea a car chase that zoomed through parts of Lakewood yesterday was bound for small screens -- or that it would end in a barrage of pepper balls.Dakota Chapman, Dog's grandson and a regular on the show, has been documenting the family's stay in Colorado on his Instagram account, with a focus on natural wonders. Here, for instance, is a shot of Dakota, a native of Hawaii, experiencing our recent snowfall.... ...followed by a look at what he describes as his first-ever snowman.... ...and yesterday's Colorado sunset: This peaceful image came after a bit of excitement on and near the 1700 block of South Pierce Street.
According to 9News, the Chapmans were trying to round up David Anderson, a no-show in court a few weeks back, when their quarry rabbited, prompting a car chase that ended with the suspect drawing fire from a Taser and a weapon shooting pepper balls.Shortly thereafter, the Lakewood Police Department got an inaccurate report of shots fired and responded in force, having had no heads-up that Dog and company were doing their thing -- not that the bounty hunters were required to do so, although Beth says they'll try to give officers a heads-up in the future.
The footage is expected to show up on CMT in the next few months. But here's a preview via 7News coverage of the incident.
