In this week’s cover story, “The Sand Creek Massacre Healing Run honors the past, but is heading for the future,” Patricia Calhoun chronicles the fifteenth annual Healing Run, marking the November 29, 1864 massacre of 150 Cheyenne and Arapaho — most of them women, children or elderly men — by volunteer troops led by Colonel John Chivington.
