For years, we’ve covered the controversy over pit-bull bans — policies that pit-bull activists feel punish the breed when those truly at fault for attacks or other incidents are poor owners.

Last night, the Aurora City Council gave preliminary approval to move forward on a series of ballot measures for the November election, including a vote about potentially overturning the community’s pit bull ban.
