Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

What are your favorite places, services and events in the metro area? Give them the spotlight they deserve: The Westword Best of Denver 2013 Readers' Poll is now live, and we want your input.

For the first time, this year's awards will be tallied across two rounds of voting, with a time-out at midnight tonight to tabulate the current results and let you know who's in the lead. After that break, you can vote again for your favorites. The final tally will begin at midnight on March 20, with the winners announced March 28.

Go here to nominate your favorites in the Best of Denver 2013 Readers' Poll. (And please note: The poll includes just a fraction of the categories that will appear in the actual issue. You can suggest additional categories on the last line -- or just suggest them in the comments section below.)

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
