Blogs -- and take note, you are reading this in a blog -- aren't the wave of the future. Blogs are the here and now, the thing of the moment, where grassroots communications are dealt right over the top of the table, straight-forward, via the Internet. It's where we can all ask the question, "I think this, how about you?" It's where we all can shoot the shit without leaving home. I'm not here to judge, either. I'm just sayin'...
So it was only a matter of time before someone tried to bring the modern form of cyber give-and-take to the stage. And the Denver blogger (and former Rocky Mountain News clubs columnist) Dave Flomberg is the guy who did it. The resulting show, Below the Fold: A Blog on Stage (the genesis of which I previously outlined for this Night & Day item), is wrapping up its run at the John Hand Theater, 7653 E. First Place in Lowry, today and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. If you act fast, all tickets reserved in advance are only $10 -- a real deal considering the going price of $15 to $17. To find out what Dave thinks about, call 720-984-0781, or e-mail email@example.com for details.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
