The Broncos’ victory over the Detroit Lions during last night’s Sunday Night Football broadcast wasn’t as flat-out bizarre as the previous week’s triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs.
But the win was just as dispiriting for Detroit Lions fans, in part because they thought their team had such a good chance at victory over Peyton Manning, who’s looked vulnerable and ancient at times during the early portion of the season.
He hardly seemed invincible last night, either. But Manning, bolstered by the Broncos’ astonishing defense, managed to do just enough to eke out a W, with the clincher being a rainbow to tight end Owen Daniels that was absolutely perfect in its imperfection.
During and after the game, Lions fans vented their spleen on Twitter – and counting the number of profanities is a good way to gauge their frustrating at the Lions, the Broncos and one PFM.
