Anyone sick of staring at his or her cluttered, sloppy, haphazardly decorated home can find glorious respite at Apartment Therapy, a website devoted to making any space more beautiful, no matter how small. The idea: Do a lot with a little.
Look below to see our ten favorite Colorado entries, complete with links on the numbers to more detailed tours.
Number 10:
Name: Daniel
Location: Cheesman Park, Denver
Type of space: Balcony
This balcony is just three feet wide by thirteen feet long — but somehow, Daniel has managed to outfit it with small chairs, a table and planters that turn the perch into an urban oasis.
Number 9:
Name: Dan
Location: LoDo, Denver
Size: 582 square feet
Dan’s place features exposed concrete walls, ceiling, pipes and ducts. But thanks to the juxtaposition of maple floors and a new kitchen, among other things, this pad definitely doesn’t exude a cold, industrial feel.

Number 8:
The appeal of this post is before-and-after photographs that show how the space was improved. Take the bedroom, which was rearranged and given a new color scheme — “from warm to cool colors for better sleeping.”
Number 7:
Name: Aryn
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Size: 430 sq. ft. apartment
In Aryn’s case, being on a budget was actually an advantage to decorating the apartment, because a personal style can be expressed with a few pieces of furniture and a large supply of creativity.

Number 6:
Name: Gayle and Andrew
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Size: 406 sq/ft Studio
This couple removed the wall between the living room and the bedroom, “creating an alcove with Murphy-bed for desk/dining table.” Smart.
Number 5:
Shannon and her husband based the theme of their baby’s room on The Secret Garden, a book that provided them with inspiration during a health crisis late in her pregnancy. Clearly, there was plenty of inspiration left over.

Number 4:
This Nederland home is “made with two shipping containers straddling a taller common area.” The best feature: “Those expansive mountain views from the roll-up door in the living room!”
Number 3:
Name: Diane and family
Location: Rollinsville, Colorado
Size: 825 square foot cabin + 128 square foot artist’s studio
Given that Diane is a professional interior designer, she definitely has skills most of us can only envy — or emulate.
