The accusations levied against University of Northern Colorado theater professor Vance Fulkerson are grotesque in the extreme: Earlier this week, he was charged with sexual exploitation of children related to a video system set up in (wait for it) his bathroom. And charges that UNC took no action against Fulkerson even though complaints against him date back to at least 1991 are at least as vile. It's ironic, then, that the online site Teach Street lists him as the teacher of a Denver-based class called "Self-Defense Singing."
If the charges against Fulkerson are accurate, the young people he taught certainly needed self-defense skills -- to use against him.
