Alan Prendergast’s August 19, 2010 Westword cover story, “Asphalt jungle: For years, Denver police thought this parking lot was the most dangerous spot in LoDo. What’s changed?” explains the violence in the Lower Downtown neighborhood of Denver after last call, when the streets are full of people.
Violence overtook the area on a regular basis just a few years ago, so we took our camera on a dimly lit walking tour around 1:30 a.m. on a recent weekend night.
