Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
According to the New York Times, Colorado is America -- at least when it comes to our opinion of health-care reform. Which ain't too positive right now.
"In Colorado, Craving Reform of Health Care and Congress," published yesterday, quotes an array of average folks in Denver and Fort Collins with assorted ideological biases on the headline subject. The conclusion? Liberals and conservatives alike believe that attempts to either reform health-care or crush such efforts have been counterproductive and dispiriting. Typical are these comments from Ron Vaughn, owner of Argonaut Wine and Liquor: "The one word I would use for what's going on in Washington is embarrassing. I am embarrassed for Republicans and for Democrats."
Who says politicians can't bring us together?
